
"Baby Blues" Champ
This is the standard rules for chassis specifications for the "Baby Blues" Champs.

Design Specifications
This class is intended as cost effective kid class for ages 4-7 year old racers. Move karts next to nothing down to the next generation year after year!!! Pay attention to the very few modifications list below and please contact Midwest Champ Kart Series or Firewater Tire Solutions for any questions.
1. Karts: No offset karts allowed, maximum width: 42”, wheelbase: 29”-31”. (standard kid Kart chassis)
2. Rear Bumper: Continuous loop shaped with vertical or angled bracing connecting upper and lower loop rails. Bumper must protect rear tires.
3. Cage: Must have 4 points welded or bolted with a seat clamps style, no slip joints on main cage. Exception is the side intrusion bar. It shall have a minimum of .750” tubing with .065” wall. This bar can be removable/ replaceable via a slip fit joint welded to the main cage rails. Height of cage is a minimum of 26" Maximum of 31". Height to be measured vertically from highest lateral cross bar centerline to main frame rail centerline. Rear hoop can be of 2 bend design. Top bar must be minimum of 20" before the start of the bend 45-degree minimum bend downward to the front porch. 18" access hole minimum on top of cage.
4. Bumper: Must run a full rear bumper for safety reasons. May have play if secured by nylon nut/bolts or safety pinned.
5. Tires: Only can run the Maxxis HT3 Blue 6.50 Right Sides (wheel size 8.25" to 8.75") and Maxxis HT3 Blue 4.50 Left Side tires (wheel size 6.0" to 6.5").

6. Harness: Five point, racing harness is mandatory. Metal to metal harness fastener is mandatory. Mounting bolts must be cotter keyed and attached to a 3/16 inch minimum thick, 2.0 inch minimum square steel mounting plate that is welded to the frame and/or roll cage.
7. Arm Restraints: Arm restraints, attached to the steering column or harness, are mandatory.

8. Body work: Must have a champ style nose and side panels. Fiberglass and/or plastic only. No enclosing the front tires. ​
